What stops you taking steps to improve your health?
Are you fed up with feeling tired, hormonal, bloated and in pain? Do you want to avoid 2024 being another year where your health dictates your social life and work patterns?
If so, then this is the year to get your health back on track.
But how many times have we said that but then not done it?
We all do it, we have this intention in our head of how things are going to be, but making it happen doesn’t always turn into a reality as life gets in the way.
But what is stopping you from putting your health first?
These are some of the things that I hear and that I’ve been guilty of doing too:
I don’t have time.
Undoubtedly, making changes to your diet and lifestyle will take up some time. But just think about how much time you lose at the moment from feeling tired and unwell, and how much time you could get back to do the things you love if you could improve your symptoms. Putting in some time now, will pay off later. You don’t always need to do things that take a lot of time. Even going for a 10 minute walk every day can make a difference. And you don’t need to get into having to cook everything from scratch, I can help you find quick and easy ways of starting to improve your health.
It costs too much to get one to one support.
I hear you on that, particularly at the moment. That’s why I have several free e-books to give you the basics to improve your health condition with diet. I also do talks and workshops which will give you some more detail on how to make changes. I also have payment plans so you can split the cost of one to one support into three payments. Sometimes it is worth taking the plunge and investing in your health rather than continuing to feel unwell year after year.
I’m worried about it being too complicated to follow a nutrition plan.
You don’t have to do something very complicated to get results. In fact, the more complicated someone’s health issues are, the more we go back to basics in getting things like sleep, hydration and the right nutrients in place and this can make a big difference. Complicated plans are often not sustainable long term and what I want to do is to give you a plan that eventually becomes your normal way of eating rather than a ‘diet or programme’ you are following.
I’m worried about having to make too many changes to my diet.
The first step in a nutritional therapy assessment is to assess what is currently in your diet. That way we can start by building on what you already eat. If we think it might be helpful to change some things, I will always give you alternatives to try rather than just cutting things out. And we will always work at a pace that suits you so that it feels manageable.
I’ll find it hard on a restrictive diet.
I don’t really like restricting foods unless we really have to. I did a very restrictive diet when I first saw a nutritional therapist and I know how hard they are to do. My focus is more on adding in foods that can help get your health back in balance rather than taking a lot of food groups out of your diet.
My family won’t eat different foods.
I completely understand you don’t want to end up cooking several different meals. We can work around that and find ways that you can add in some additional nutrients without making big changes to main meals. Often people find it easier to make changes to their breakfast or lunch instead and we leave the main meal that everyone eats together alone. Sometimes family members enjoy trying some new foods too.
Drop me an email and let me know what your barriers are to prioritizing your health and I’ll see if I can give you some ideas.
